know/listen to your body. It will tell you when you are trying to do to much. Take breaks. You don't have to set record for the number of massages you can do in a day/week/month/lifetime.

Know your contraindications. If a client comes to you complaining of anything that you do not feel comfortable working on refer them to another therapist with more experience or send them to a doctor for clearance for a massage.

Always suggest that you client follow the following rules after a massage:
1. Always drink alot of water. It helps to flush the garbage out of the body.
2. Avoid alachol after a massage. It dehydrates you and pulls the garbage back into the muscles.
3. Take a nice hot bath with at least 2 cups of Epsom Salts it will act as a mild muscle relaxer. (WARNING!!!!! if your client has low blood pressure or if they are dizzy after the massage AVOID this suggestion. WARNING!!!!!)

Massage therapists should not follow the "NO PAIN, NO GAIN" rule. Yes Deep Tissue is not always a pleasurable thing, but you should not be sore for more than a day.
